With the rising case numbers in Marion County, Salem Cinema is following the advice of the CDC and OSHA and re-evaluating our mask policy. We feel, for the safety of our customers and our staff, that it is important for us to be proactive and once again require masks or face coverings inside the building to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19 and any variants.
As of Wednesday, August 11th, MASKS OR FACE COVERINGS ARE ONCE AGAIN REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES EXCEPT WHEN ACTIVELY EATING OR DRINKING WHILE SAFELY SEATED IN YOUR AUDITORIUM. WITH YOUR HELP, THIS WILL ONLY BE TEMPORARY.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Social distancing should continue to be maintained as much as possible in the building, whether standing in line, using our restrooms or seated in an auditorium for your movie.
All three of our auditoriums will continue to have reduced capacity seating.
All ticket sales are and will continue to be online for the time being with a reserved seating system that allows for automated social distancing that leaves one gap seat between parties.
In addition to our already stellar cleaning practices, we have enhanced cleaning procedures in place to ensure that high-touch surfaces are cleaned more often and auditoriums are thoroughly sanitized between shows. As a safety-control measure, we have been leaving the armrests up in all auditoriums. If you choose to use your armrest(s), please leave them down when your movie ends to indicate where extra, essential sanitizing may be necessary. You are welcome to also sanitize your armrests when pulling them down if it increases your comfort level.
Our HVAC system has been upgraded to the highest filtration standards consistent with CDC, state and local health guidance.
We provide hand sanitizing stations throughout the building for your peace of mind.
Staff is extremely cautious, wash their hands frequently and are also required to wear masks at all times. They have temperature checks prior to and following every shift.
We have added plexiglass partitions with a pass-through for your concession items for extra safety. Straws, napkins and other items formerly available as self-serve are provided to you by the staff to limit shared contact.
Finally, if you're not feeling well, please stay home. If you are experiencing a fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell or have other symptoms that could be related to COVID-19, please wait until you are confident of your health and we will welcome you to join us in the future.
We are sorry if these extra steps feel different from your usual experience at Salem Cinema, but we are committed to keeping everyone safe. We count on each of you to partner with us as we all navigate these new procedures.
