As a companion to the new movie MARIA, we have decided to bring back a few screenings of the 2018 documentary MARIA BY CALLAS! MARIA BY CALLAS offers a mesmerizing look at the life of a brilliantly talented artist whose absorbing story matches the operatic heights reached by her work! Drawing heavily from extensive TV interviews with the likes of David Frost and Ed Murrow and supplemented with readings from memoirs and letters, MARIA BY CALLAS sublimely captures one of the greatest talents of the 20th century. The Greek-American soprano rose to fame after World War II and became a star attraction in all of the major opera houses. In this fantastic documentary, Maria Callas emerges as open, charming and fiercely honest about both her convictions and her self-doubt.
