But I'm A Cheerleader
Salem Cinema presents a Reel Change For Our Community Benefit Screening of BUT I'M A CHEERLEADER for Salem Capital Pride at 7PM on Tuesday, May 20th! All seats $15 in advance or $18 day of the event.
25 Years Later: BUT I'M A CHEERLEADER is a Pitch-Perfect LGBTQ Comedy. Jamie Babbit’s feature directorial debut is both a raucous comedy and an impassioned, tender coming-of-age love story. Megan (Natasha Lyonne) considers herself a typical American girl. She excels in school and cheerleading, and she has a handsome football-playing boyfriend, even though she isn't that crazy about him. So she's stunned when her parents decide she's gay and send her to True Directions, a boot camp meant to alter her sexual orientation. While there, Megan meets a rebellious and unashamed teen lesbian, Graham (Clea DuVall). Though Megan still feels confused, she starts to have feelings for Graham.
Salem Capital Pride seeks to educate, celebrate and connect the LGBTQ+ community and our allies throughout the Central Willamette Valley through events, dissemination of information, and community partnerships.ComedyPT1H25MR2025-05-20Natasha Lyonne
