Salem Cinema has been a cultural hub of our thriving city since 1982, dedicated to enriching our community by providing year-round films, educational programs, and a venue for engaging activities. We present the richness of American and world cinema, including live-filmed performances such as theatre, dance, opera and other musical events and see film as a source of cultural literacy, learning and vision for the future as well as a place for discovery, community and delight.

In addition to broadening horizons and cultural awareness and understanding through the art of film, we are proud to offer a fundraising asset to our many local non-profit organizations by way of hosting movie benefit nights in partnership with their own missions.

PARKING:

We have limited street parking – early birds get the best spots, of course! There is a parking lot behind the building for our patrons as well. Please don't park in the numbered spaces as those belong to the tenants of the apartment complex.

We have gift cards that can be used in person or online and we would be happy to exchange your CineBucks.  However, feel free to use your CineBucks in person at our ticket booth or concession counter if you choose. Please note: CineBucks are non-refundable.

Please keep in mind that while we are willing to try to work in a private theater rental around our regularly scheduled programming, studio restrictions and staffing often dictate our decisions. The further ahead we can try to plan around your requested date and time, the better chance we have of being able to consider your event. Thank you for your patience and flexibility! We highly encourage purchasing your tickets online in advance to assure your spot prior to arriving at the cinema. Please note, however, that if you are unable to attend a film or event for which you've purchased tickets, we are only able to offer a refund prior to the screening time of the ticket purchased. Once the screening time has passed, we are unable to offer a refund due to film industry technicalities. On the occasion when an event has sold out, there can be no refunds or exchanges. In addition, all sales are final for any of our benefit screenings. Thank you for your understanding!

Please keep in mind that Salem Cinema is an arthouse theater and as such, the majority of our films are adult-oriented. On the rare occasion that we play a film that is appropriate for a younger audience, we will continue to advertise previews that, while suitable for all audiences, are for our upcoming films which may be rated R. If you feel more comfortable, you may choose to leave the auditorium during the previews and return to your seat when your film begins.

Salem Cinema Age Policy: Due to customer complaints and disruptions from people who have chosen to bring young children with them to inappropriate movies, we have created a policy in which no child under the age of 12 will be admitted to specific films. .

Salem Cinema's policy is ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS. We hope you understand that selling snacks and beverages in our beautiful lobby is one of the ways you can support the theater. We understand you may have specific dietary needs and we've worked hard to take this into consideration, offering sugar free, vegan and gluten free snack options. Please let us know if you have a suggestion for an addition to our selection that might help round out what we offer .
